The T-34 Mentor

The T-34 Mentor is a militarized Beech Bonanza. This aircraft was concieved as a replacement for the North American Texan/SNJ/Harvard. After sucessfully test flighted in December 1948, this aircraft was readily accepted by our Service Branches as well as many foreign nations. In September 1973 a Mentor, designated T-34C-1 and equipped with a Pratt and Whitney PT-6A-25 turboprop engine, was first flown. This sifnificantly improved the performance of the aircraft.
